Volvo S60 2.5T Stage 1 Remap
On Volvo S60 2.5T turbo petrol engines a Stage 1 remap recalibrates the boost pressure, ignition timing, fuelling and torque limiter maps. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up. The same engine is sold with different stock outputs across generations, so the gain depends on your version.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 2.5T engines with 210 bhp reach 240–245 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +35 bhp (2.5T 210hp). Pick your version in the table below.
Volvo S60 2.5T: Stage 1 figures by generation and year

| Engine | Power | Torque | Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Volvo S60 2.5T 210hp | 210 → 245 bhp | 320 → 385 Nm | +35 bhp |
Year / chassis: 2000 - 2004
| Engine | Power | Torque | Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Volvo S60 2.5T 210hp | 210 → 240 bhp | 320 → 390 Nm | +30 bhp |

About the older-generation Volvo / Saab turbo petrol engine (T5, 2.0T/2.5T, Aero)
Volvo’s five-cylinder 2.3/2.5 T5 and low-pressure 2.0T/2.5T engines and Saab’s 2.0 and 2.3 turbo engines are early, durable examples of turbo petrol engines. These families are known for responding well to software.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Volvo S60 2.5T
A Stage 1 remap adjusts boost targets, ignition and fuel maps together; on low-pressure versions the gain is proportionally larger. Knock protection and exhaust temperature limits are kept.
Pre-remap checklist
- Crankcase ventilation (PCV) system; blockages are common on these families.
- Coils, spark plugs and vacuum leaks on the intake side.
- Turbo condition and oil leaks.
- On automatics, gearbox oil and adaptation status.
On older cars a leak test and a service are recommended before the remap.
