DSG / TCU Tuning
Performance-focused recalibration of the transmission control unit.
What is DSG / TCU Tuning?
DSG/TCU tuning reprograms the transmission control unit (TCU) for performance: higher torque capacity, a more aggressive shift strategy and clutch management. It is a broader job that also includes DSG optimisation.
When is it needed?
- Gearbox not allowing the raised engine torque
- Slipping or missed shifts
- Early upshift at the rev limit
Benefits
- Higher torque capacity
- Aggressive, fast shift strategy
- Full match with the engine software

Frequently asked questions
Why raise the torque limit?
Factory gearbox software cuts engine torque. After a Stage tune, if that limit is not matched to the calibration you will not feel the gain.
Does clutch life suffer?
Transmitting more torque inevitably raises the load. Limits are set to the hardware; we do not recommend the work on a worn clutch.
Can it be done on every DSG or automatic?
No; the transmission control unit must be supported. We check compatibility for your car first.

ECU Prime is chiptuning software that recognises the original ECU file you read with your tool and applies the operation you choose. The checksum is corrected in the same flow.
