Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d Stage 1 Remap
On Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d diesel engines a Stage 1 remap recalibrates the fuel quantity, injection timing, boost pressure and torque limiter maps. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up. The same engine is sold with different stock outputs across generations, so the gain depends on your version.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 220d engines with 177–190 bhp reach 210–220 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +33 bhp (X156 220d (2.2D) 177hp). Pick your version in the table below.
Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d: Stage 1 figures by generation and year

|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d (2.2D) 177hp | 177 → 210 bhp | 350 → 420 Nm | +33 bhp |
Year / chassis: H247 - 2020+
| Engine | Power | Torque | Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d (2.0d) 190hp | 190 → 220 bhp | 400 → 480 Nm | +30 bhp |

About the Mercedes-Benz OM654 2.0 diesel (post-2016 180d / 200d / 220d / 300d)
The OM654 is Mercedes' aluminium-block diesel introduced with the E-Class in 2016 and used in the C, E, GLC, CLS, Vito and Sprinter from 150 to 265 hp. It is equipped with AdBlue and a DPF.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d
Stage 1 recalibrates rail pressure, injection, boost and the torque limiter. Together with the 9G-Tronic gearbox, a full torque delivery from low revs results; overtaking and long-distance comfort improve clearly. Emissions systems are preserved.
Pre-remap checklist
- AdBlue system and NOx sensor health.
- DPF load.
- Oil service and the correct oil specification.
- Gearbox oil service.
