Citroen C5 2.2 HDI Stage 1 Remap
On Citroen C5 2.2 HDI diesel engines a Stage 1 remap recalibrates the fuel quantity, injection timing, boost pressure and torque limiter maps. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up. The same engine is sold with different stock outputs across generations, so the gain depends on your version.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 2.2 HDI engines with 136–204 bhp reach 170–235 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +34 bhp (2.2 HDI 136hp). Pick your version in the table below.

About the PSA 2.2 HDi / BlueHDi (four-cylinder common-rail diesel)
The 2.2 HDi is a four-cylinder common-rail diesel used in large cars such as the Peugeot 407/508/607 and Citroen C5/C6 and in vans such as the Jumper and Boxer. Some van versions come from the engine family developed jointly with Ford.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Citroen C5 2.2 HDI
A Stage 1 remap recalibrates injection quantity, rail pressure and boost pressure; pull under load and on hills improves. On vans the torque is set with the gearbox and clutch limits in mind.
Pre-remap checklist
- Injector leak-off test and rail pressure.
- EGR valve and cooler; DPF (FAP) system and additive level.
- Turbo play and boost leaks.
- Dual-mass flywheel and clutch condition.
For commercial use the service history is always checked before the remap.
This section is based on GP Power ECU workshop experience; the power and torque figures come from the catalogue measurement above.
