About the Opel 1.6 / 1.7 / 2.0 CDTi

These engines power the Opel Astra, Insignia, Zafira, Mokka, Meriva and Corsa. The 1.7 CDTi is Isuzu-derived, the 2.0 CDTi is GM's own design, and the 1.6 CDTi is the post-2013 "Whisper Diesel" generation, from 110 to 195 hp.

How a Stage 1 remap works on the Opel Astra 1.7 CDTi

Stage 1 recalibrates rail pressure, injection, boost and the torque limiter. Since the 2.0 CDTi 130 and 160 hp outputs share hardware, the gain is clear. On automatic cars the torque limit is respected.

With the same driving style it usually drops, because you hold the same speed at lower revs and less throttle. If you use the extra power, consumption naturally rises. It is down to your right foot.

How long does it take? Do I leave the car?

Most cars take 1–2 hours and you get the car back the same day; no need to leave it. Some models need the ECU removed, which takes longer — we tell you when booking.

Can I go back to stock later?

Yes. The original file is read and archived before any work. We restore the factory software free of charge whenever you ask.
