Mazda 3 1.5 SkyActiv-D Stage 1 Remap
On Mazda 3 1.5 SkyActiv-D diesel engines a Stage 1 remap recalibrates the fuel quantity, injection timing, boost pressure and torque limiter maps. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up. The same engine is sold with different stock outputs across generations, so the gain depends on your version.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 1.5 SkyActiv-D engines with 105 bhp reach 130 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +25 bhp (1.5 Skyactiv-D 105hp). Pick your version in the table below.

About the Mazda Skyactiv-D 1.5 / 1.8 / 2.2
Skyactiv-D is the modern low-compression diesel, twin-turbocharged on the 2.2, used in the Mazda 2, 3, 6, CX-3, CX-30 and CX-5 from 105 to 184 hp and known for its refinement.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Mazda 3 1.5 SkyActiv-D
Stage 1 recalibrates rail pressure, injection, boost and the torque limiter. On the 2.2 Skyactiv-D the 150 and 184 hp outputs largely share hardware, so the lower output gains clearly. The automatic gearbox torque limit is respected.
Pre-remap checklist
- DPF load and oil dilution (rising oil level is a known issue on this engine).
- EGR valve and cooler.
- Boost leaks.
- Adherence to oil service intervals.
