Lancia Thema 3.0 Mjet Stage 1 Remap
On Lancia Thema 3.0 Mjet diesel engines a Stage 1 remap recalibrates the fuel quantity, injection timing, boost pressure and torque limiter maps. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up. The same engine is sold with different stock outputs across generations, so the gain depends on your version.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 3.0 Mjet engines with 190–240 bhp reach 270 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +80 bhp (3.0 Mjet 190hp). Pick your version in the table below.
Lancia Thema 3.0 Mjet: Stage 1 figures by generation and year
Year / chassis: 2011+
| Engine | Power | Torque | Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lancia Thema 3.0 Mjet 190hp | 190 → 270 bhp | 440 → 630 Nm | +80 bhp |
| Lancia Thema 3.0 Mjet 240hp | 240 → 270 bhp | 550 → 630 Nm | +30 bhp |

GP Power ECU applies the software at its workshop in Hukou, Hsinchu, using EcuPrime-developed files; workshops can also order the file directly.
About the naturally aspirated petrol engine
This vehicle uses a naturally aspirated petrol engine, without a turbo or supercharger. The amount of air it can draw in is physically limited; power depends mainly on displacement, revs and the intake and exhaust design.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Lancia Thema 3.0 Mjet
On naturally aspirated engines the gain from a Stage 1 remap is limited compared with turbo engines. Ignition timing, fuel maps, throttle response and, where useful, the rev limit are optimised for a livelier response and a smoother power curve. Bigger gains need hardware changes such as intake, exhaust or camshafts.
Pre-remap checklist
- Spark plugs, coils and fuel quality.
- Air filter, throttle body and intake leaks.
- Lambda probe and catalytic converter condition.
- Engine compression and oil consumption (at high mileage).
Expectations on naturally aspirated engines should be realistic; catalogue figures are a typical range.
This section is based on GP Power ECU workshop experience; the power and torque figures come from the catalogue measurement above.
