Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi Stage 1 Remap
On Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi naturally aspirated engines a Stage 1 remap refines the ignition timing, fuelling and throttle response maps. Without a turbo the power gain is smaller than on turbocharged engines; the difference is felt mostly in throttle response and the mid-range. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 5.7 Hemi engines with 325–360 bhp reach 345–380 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +20 bhp (5.7 Hemi V8 360hp). Pick your version in the table below.

About the American naturally aspirated V8 (GM 5.3 / 6.2 Vortec and LS, Chrysler 5.7 / 6.4 HEMI)
The large naturally aspirated V8s of the Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, Tahoe, Silverado, GMC Sierra, Yukon, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, Ram and Jeep Grand Cherokee produce 300 to 485 hp. They are durable, simple, torque-focused engines.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi
On a naturally aspirated V8, Stage 1 re-tunes ignition advance, fuelling, throttle and, where fitted, variable valve timing; cylinder deactivation (AFM / MDS) can be disabled in the same calibration if wanted. The gain is measured, but throttle response and mid-range fullness improve clearly.
Pre-remap checklist
- Lifter and camshaft wear in the AFM / MDS cylinder deactivation system (known issue).
- Ignition coils and spark plugs.
- Exhaust manifold bolts and leaks.
- Automatic gearbox oil service.
