Hyundai i20 1.0 T-GDi Stage 1 Remap
On Hyundai i20 1.0 T-GDi turbo petrol engines a Stage 1 remap recalibrates the boost pressure, ignition timing, fuelling and torque limiter maps. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up. The same engine is sold with different stock outputs across generations, so the gain depends on your version.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 1.0 T-GDi engines with 100–120 bhp reach 120–140 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +40 bhp (1.0 T-GDi 100hp). Pick your version in the table below.

About the Hyundai / Kia 1.0 / 1.6 T-GDI
T-GDI engines are the turbo direct-injection petrols of the Hyundai i20, i30, Kona, Tucson, Elantra and Kia Rio, Ceed, Stonic and Sportage. The 1.0 T-GDI is a three-cylinder of 100–120 hp; the 1.6 T-GDI a four-cylinder of 150–280 hp.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Hyundai i20 1.0 T-GDi
Stage 1 recalibrates boost, ignition advance and fuelling. The gain spreads across a wide rev range and is clear in the mid-range on the 1.6 T-GDI. On DCT cars the clutch and torque limit are respected.
Pre-remap checklist
- Ignition coils, spark plugs and fuel quality.
- Carbon build-up on the intake valves.
- Boost leaks and wastegate actuator.
- Oil level monitoring.
