Ford Tourneo Custom 2.2 TDCI Stage 1 Remap
On Ford Tourneo Custom 2.2 TDCI diesel engines a Stage 1 remap recalibrates the fuel quantity, injection timing, boost pressure and torque limiter maps. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up. The same engine is sold with different stock outputs across generations, so the gain depends on your version.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 2.2 TDCI engines with 125–155 bhp reach 180 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +55 bhp (2.2 TDCI 125hp). Pick your version in the table below.
Ford Tourneo Custom 2.2 TDCI: Stage 1 figures by generation and year
Year / chassis: 2013 - 2016
| Engine | Power | Torque | Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ford Tourneo Custom 2.2 TDCI 125hp | 125 → 180 bhp | 350 → 420 Nm | +55 bhp |
| Ford Tourneo Custom 2.2 TDCI 155hp | 155 → 180 bhp | 385 → 420 Nm | +25 bhp |

About the Ford 1.4 / 1.5 / 1.6 / 1.8 / 2.0 / 2.2 TDCi (Duratorq)
TDCi engines powered the Fiesta, Focus, C-Max, Mondeo, Kuga, Transit and Connect from the early 2000s to 2016. The 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 TDCi are shared with PSA (DV series), the 1.8 TDCi is Ford's own design, and the 2.0 and 2.2 TDCi are the PSA-derived DW series.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Ford Tourneo Custom 2.2 TDCI
Stage 1 recalibrates rail pressure, injection duration and boost according to the injection system of the version (Siemens, Delphi or Bosch). A full mid-range torque gain results; on vans such as the Transit, pulling power under load improves visibly.
Pre-remap checklist
- Injector condition and injector seals (a known issue on the 1.8 TDCi).
- DPF load and Eolys additive level (older 1.6 and 2.0 TDCi).
- Turbo oil feed; turbo failure is common on the 1.6 TDCi.
- EGR valve and dual-mass flywheel.
This section is based on GP Power ECU workshop experience; the power and torque figures come from the catalogue measurement above.
