Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD Stage 1 Remap
On Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD diesel engines a Stage 1 remap recalibrates the fuel quantity, injection timing, boost pressure and torque limiter maps. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up. The same engine is sold with different stock outputs across generations, so the gain depends on your version.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 1.9 JTD engines with 100–115 bhp reach 130–145 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +33 bhp (1.9 JTD 105hp). Pick your version in the table below.
Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD: Stage 1 figures by generation and year
Year / chassis: All
| Engine | Power | Torque | Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD 100hp | 100 → 130 bhp | 200 → 260 Nm | +30 bhp |
| Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD 105hp | 105 → 138 bhp | 200 → 270 Nm | +33 bhp |
| Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD 110hp | 110 → 135 bhp | 200 → 295 Nm | +25 bhp |
| Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD 115hp | 115 → 145 bhp | 203 → 260 Nm | +30 bhp |

About the Fiat / Alfa Romeo / Opel 1.9 JTD / JTDM / CDTi
The 1.9 JTD is the four-cylinder common-rail diesel used throughout the 2000s in the Fiat Stilo, Bravo, Doblo, Alfa Romeo 147, 156, 159, GT, Opel Astra, Vectra, Zafira and Saab 9-3, in 8- and 16-valve forms from 100 to 150 hp.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD
Stage 1 recalibrates rail pressure, injection and boost. With its durable block the engine responds well; the mid-range torque gain is clear. On 16-valve versions the condition of the swirl flaps affects the result.
Pre-remap checklist
- Swirl flap mechanism on 16-valve versions.
- EGR valve cleanliness.
- Boost leaks and variable-geometry vanes.
- Dual-mass flywheel and clutch.
This section is based on GP Power ECU workshop experience; the power and torque figures come from the catalogue measurement above.
