Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Mjet Stage 1 Remap
On Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Mjet diesel engines a Stage 1 remap recalibrates the fuel quantity, injection timing, boost pressure and torque limiter maps. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up. The same engine is sold with different stock outputs across generations, so the gain depends on your version.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 1.3 Mjet engines with 85–95 bhp reach 110–115 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +25 bhp (1.3 Mjet 85hp). Pick your version in the table below.
Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Mjet: Stage 1 figures by generation and year
Year / chassis: 2005+
| Engine | Power | Torque | Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Mjet 85hp | 85 → 110 bhp | 200 → 250 Nm | +25 bhp |
| Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Mjet 95hp | 95 → 115 bhp | 200 → 250 Nm | +20 bhp |

How a Stage 1 remap works on the Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Mjet
Stage 1 recalibrates injection quantity, rail pressure and boost according to the turbo type of the version (fixed or variable geometry). Torque arrives earlier; in town and in loaded commercial use the difference is felt at once.
Pre-remap checklist
- Turbo oil feed line and shaft play; turbo failure is common on engines with neglected maintenance.
- EGR valve and intake manifold soot.
- DPF load on Euro 5 and later versions.
- Injector condition and oil level.
