Dacia Duster 1.5 DCI Stage 1 Remap
On Dacia Duster 1.5 DCI diesel engines a Stage 1 remap recalibrates the fuel quantity, injection timing, boost pressure and torque limiter maps. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up. The same engine is sold with different stock outputs across generations, so the gain depends on your version.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 1.5 DCI engines with 85–115 bhp reach 110–140 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +45 bhp (1.5 dCi 95hp). Pick your version in the table below.

About the Renault 1.5 dCi (K9K)
The 1.5 dCi is one of the most widespread diesels on European roads: Clio, Megane, Fluence, Kangoo, Dacia Duster, Logan, Sandero and Nissan Qashqai and Juke all use it. Over the years it has been offered from 65 to 115 hp, with Delphi or Bosch injection and a fixed or variable-geometry turbo depending on version.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Dacia Duster 1.5 DCI
Stage 1 recalibrates injection quantity, rail pressure and boost according to the hardware of the specific version. Variable-geometry versions offer a wider margin; on fixed-geometry turbos the calibration is kept more measured. In daily driving low-rev torque and overtaking confidence improve clearly.
Pre-remap checklist
- Injector condition; tired injectors cause rough running and smoke.
- Turbo oil feed line and shaft play, the best-known failure point of this engine.
- EGR valve and DPF load on Euro 5 and later versions.
- Oil level and adherence to service intervals.
On high-mileage or poorly maintained 1.5 dCi engines a mechanical condition report comes first; the remap is applied to a healthy engine.
