BMW 630i Stage 1 Remap
On BMW 630i naturally aspirated engines a Stage 1 remap refines the ignition timing, fuelling and throttle response maps. Without a turbo the power gain is smaller than on turbocharged engines; the difference is felt mostly in throttle response and the mid-range. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 630i engines with 258–272 bhp reach 284–285 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +26 bhp (E63 630i 258hp). Pick your version in the table below.
BMW 630i: Stage 1 figures by generation and year
Year / chassis: E63 - 2004 - 2010
| Engine | Power | Torque | Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| BMW 6 Series 630i 258hp | 258 → 284 bhp | 300 → 330 Nm | +26 bhp |
| BMW 6 Series 630i 272hp | 272 → 285 bhp | 300 → 330 Nm | +13 bhp |

GP Power ECU applies the software at its workshop in Hukou, Hsinchu, using EcuPrime-developed files; workshops can also order the file directly.
About the BMW naturally aspirated six-cylinder (N52 / N53: 323i, 325i, 328i, 330i, 523i, 525i, 530i, 2004–2012)
The naturally aspirated 2.5 and 3.0-litre six-cylinders of the pre-turbo era powered the E90 3 Series, E60 5 Series, E63, Z4 and X3 from 177 to 272 hp. They are smooth, rev-happy engines.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the BMW 630i
On a naturally aspirated engine Stage 1 re-tunes ignition advance, fuelling, Valvetronic and throttle maps; without a turbo the gain is measured, but throttle response and top-end fullness improve clearly. The speed limiter and rev limit can be addressed in the same calibration if wanted.
Pre-remap checklist
- Valvetronic motor and eccentric shaft sensors.
- Oil filter housing and valve cover gasket leaks (known issue).
- Electric water pump and thermostat.
- Ignition coils and spark plugs.
