Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 JTD Stage 1 Remap
On Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 JTD diesel engines a Stage 1 remap recalibrates the fuel quantity, injection timing, boost pressure and torque limiter maps. No hardware is changed and the original software is backed up. The same engine is sold with different stock outputs across generations, so the gain depends on your version.
It depends on the generation and the stock output. 2.0 JTD engines with 163–170 bhp reach 195 bhp with a Stage 1 remap; the largest gain is +32 bhp (2.0 JTD 163hp). Pick your version in the table below.
Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 JTD: Stage 1 figures by generation and year
Year / chassis: All
| Engine | Power | Torque | Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 JTD 163hp | 163 → 195 bhp | 360 → 425 Nm | +32 bhp |
| Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 JTD 170hp | 170 → 195 bhp | 360 → 425 Nm | +25 bhp |

GP Power ECU applies the software at its workshop in Hukou, Hsinchu, using EcuPrime-developed files; workshops can also order the file directly.
About the Fiat / Alfa Romeo 1.6 and 2.0 Multijet (JTDM)
The 1.6 and 2.0 Multijet power the Fiat Tipo, Bravo, Doblo, 500X, Alfa Romeo Giulietta, 159, Jeep Renegade and Compass, from 105 to 170 hp. They are Fiat's own modern common-rail engines, not PSA-derived.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 JTD
Stage 1 recalibrates rail pressure, injection duration, boost and the torque limiter. A full mid-range torque gain results; on common versions such as the Tipo 1.6 Multijet overtaking confidence improves clearly. On DCT automatic cars the torque limit is respected.
Pre-remap checklist
- DPF load and regeneration history.
- EGR valve and cooler.
- Boost leaks and intercooler hoses.
- Dual-mass flywheel and clutch.
